(procycling.no): Astana Pro Team skriver i en pressemelding at de står over Strade Bianche, Paris-Nice og Tirreno-Adriatico.
Det betyr en selvpålagt pause på 15 dager på grunn av spredning av COVID-19-viruset.
– Med dette tiltaket har vi valgt å beskyttet helsen til rytterne våre, støtteapparatet og ta vårt samfunnsansvar når det gjelder spredning av viruset. Vi hadde selvsagt foretrukket å delta i alle de kommende rittene, men nå er det sikkerheten først, uttaler generalmanager Alexandre Vinokourov.

Ute fram til Katalonia rundt
Beskjeden er den samme hos Team INEOS, som har hatt noen fryktelig tunge dager etter bortgangen til sportsdirektør Nicolas Portal. Franskmannen fikk herteinfarkt tirsdag og ble bare 40 år gammel.
– Dette føles rett for laget etter det som har skjedd, men jeg mener også det er det beste for sykkelsporten og det bredere lag av publikum, sier Dave Brailsford og sikter mot Corona-viruset.
Laget har gitt UCI beskjed om at de ikke ønsker å delta under Strade Bianche, Tirreno-Adriatico og Milano-Sanremo, men har i tillegg inkludert Paris-Nice, Nokere Koerse og Bredene Koksijde Classic til lista.
Det betyr at Ineos-laget ikke vil bli å se i konkurranse fram mot Katalonia rundt som i utgangspunktet starter om 18 dager.

Andre lag, deriblant Lotto Soudal og NTT Pro Cycling ser ut til å ville oppfylle forpliktelsen de har som WorldTour-lag til å stille i de største rittene på kalenderen.
